Fuengirola rantautuu Espanjan pääkaupunkiin tarjotakseen parasta rantaansa

Fuengirola Promotes Its Beaches in Madrid

Fuengirola, a popular beach destination on Spain’s sunny coast, made its mark in the capital city of Madrid with a promotional event showcasing the best of its beaches. The event took place in Chamberí Square and attracted thousands of locals and visitors who were treated to a taste of traditional sardine skewers prepared by local beach entrepreneurs. The attendees also enjoyed musical performances by local bands Efecto Mariposa and Los Salvajes del Rebalaje.

The event kicked off with speeches by Fuengirola’s Mayor, Ana Mula, and the councilor of Madrid and president of Chamberí District, Jaime González, who praised the initiative of promoting Fuengirola as a preferred holiday destination for Madrileños.

”Madrid and Fuengirola are now closer thanks to this event, which brought joy and a taste of our spectacular beaches and gastronomy to the heart of the capital,” stated González.

Mayor Ana Mula expressed gratitude for the opportunity to showcase Fuengirola in Madrid and highlighted its appeal to the rest of the country.

”Madrid, besides being a great city, is the heart of Spain, and everything that happens here resonates throughout our nation. That’s why we’re here: to tell all Madrileños and Spaniards that we are the best destination for a holiday or even a second home. Fuengirola is vibrant, cosmopolitan, festive, welcoming… it’s well-being and quality of life. Today, we’ve brought a small taste of what we offer in our land,” emphasized Mayor Mula.

Following the speeches, a promotional video of Fuengirola was shown, and local bands performed. Additionally, a preview of the upcoming 2024 edition of the Marenostrum Fuengirola concert series, starting on May 18th, was presented by Deputy Mayor Rodrigo Romero.

During the event, 20 beachfront restaurants from Fuengirola served around 3,000 portions of the traditional sardine skewers, creating a beach-like atmosphere with coastal furniture and a lifeguard hut. The Francisco Luzón Foundation ’United Against ALS’ also sold beverages to raise funds for their social work.

Prior to the event, Mayor Ana Mula and other officials held meetings with various stakeholders, including a Fuengirola fencer, the president of the Spanish Beach Entrepreneurs Federation, a national music promoter, and representatives from Madrid.

Overall, the event successfully showcased Fuengirola’s charm and attractions, making it an enticing destination for tourists seeking sun, sea, and a vibrant atmosphere on Spain’s sunny coast.
