The city of Malaga welcomed a total of 142,553 hotel guests in April who carried out a total of 293,047 overnight stays, according to the Hotel Occupancy Survey of the National Institute of Statistics which has published the data for that month on Thursday. Specifically, the average length of stay in April was 2.06 days.
As indicated by the Malaga City Council in a statement, out of the total hotel guests, 35.50% (50,608) were from the national market and the remaining 64.50% were international travelers (91,945). In addition, the month of April showed an occupancy rate of 88.30% in Malaga.
On the other hand, they have pointed out that looking at the overnight stays of international hotel guests, the highest average stays were from markets such as the Netherlands (2.80 days), United Kingdom (2.62 days), and Germany (2.47 days).
Regarding hotel guests, the United Kingdom leads with 13,590 hotel guests and 35,674 overnight stays. It is followed by Italy, with 9,550 guests and 17,211 hotel overnight stays. The third place in guests is occupied by Germany, with 7,575, although it is the second market in overnight stays, registering 18,721 hotel nights in April.
The United States is the fourth international market, contributing 7,256 hotel guests who made 16,281 overnight stays. France and the Netherlands rank fifth and sixth in the international markets ranking in Malaga capital.
Finally, in terms of the national market, Andalusia once again leads the arrival of hotel guests, with 19,737 hotel guests and 28,814 overnight stays, followed by the Community of Madrid, with 12,157 hotel guests and 19,503 overnight stays.
