Beach safety in Marbella will be a top priority this summer, with an extensive operation in place to ensure the safety of visitors. A total of 19 watchtowers, 17 first aid modules, and a team of over 50 lifeguards will be on duty from June 1 to October 15.
Marbella councillor, José Eduardo Díaz, emphasized the importance of this operation, stating that the goal is to ensure a smooth summer season for all beachgoers.
Local Police will be conducting daily patrols along the 27 kilometers of coastline, with both uniformed and plainclothes officers. Additionally, Civil Protection volunteers will be stationed at La Bajadilla to assist with rescue services.
The lifeguard service, initially consisting of 40 lifeguards during the low season, will be increased to 55 personnel starting in June. Operating hours will be from 11.30am to 7.30pm to ensure maximum coverage and safety for beach visitors.
Maritime rescue resources will include three rescue jet skis and a boat with a skipper and lifeguard, while land resources will consist of ambulances, a multi-purpose rapid intervention and rescue vehicle, and a car.
