Fuengirola Promotes its Beach and Gastronomy in Madrid

Fuengirola, a beautiful coastal town in Spain, will be showcasing the best of its beach and gastronomy in the capital city of Madrid this Saturday, May 11th, at Plaza de Chamberí. The town will be inviting the people of Madrid to enjoy one of its culinary delights, espetos de sardinas (sardine skewers), in collaboration with the local Beach Entrepreneurs Association.

The event will kick off at 12:30 pm with a promotional video of the city and speeches from public representatives of both Madrid and Fuengirola. Following this, there will be musical performances by local groups Los Salvajes del Rebalaje and Efecto Mariposa, as well as a preview of the concerts that will be part of the 2024 Marenostrum Fuengirola music series.

During the event, the Beach Entrepreneurs Association will be grilling and serving up espetos de sardinas, with around 700 kilos of sardines prepared to serve over 3,000 portions to the attendees. There will also be a drinks bar managed by the Francisco Luzón Foundation ’United against ALS’, with proceeds going towards their social work.

To add to the ambiance, elements of Fuengirola’s coastal furniture, such as the iconic lifeguard huts, will be brought to Plaza de Chamberí in Madrid.

In addition to the event, Fuengirola’s Mayor Ana Mula, along with other council members, will be holding meetings with various stakeholders from the business, sports, cultural, and political sectors to enhance the national visibility of Fuengirola as a tourist destination.

This event is a great opportunity for visitors in Madrid to get a taste of the sunny coast of Spain and experience the unique gastronomy and culture of Fuengirola.
